alma mater Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), São Carlos, SP, Brazil.
I was born in 1990 in São Carlos, SP, and completed my bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, with an emphasis on polymers, at Federal University of São Carlos in 2013.
After completing my undergraduate studies, I worked for three years as a technical supervisor at a plastics homologation company, where I coordinated the technical division. My responsibilities included assigning services and activities, organizing operational procedures, and supervising equipment calibration and maintenance, in compliance with national and international quality standards, including ISO 17025 and ISO 19011.
During my M.Sc. studies, I investigated the effectiveness of anti-UV stabilizers in coir fiber–reinforced polypropylene composites exposed to different artificial weathering conditions (see my M.Sc thesis, in Portuguese, here).
I finished my M.Sc. in 2016 and, after that, I initiate my D.Sc. at University of São Paulo (USP), where I studied the influence of the molecular architecture of poly(ethylene glycol)–poly(ε-caprolactone) multiblock copolymers on compatibilization and rheological behavior under purely shear flow in biodegradable poly(lactic acid) (PLA) and poly(ε-caprolactone) blends. See my D.Sc. thesis, in Portuguese, here)
Furthermore, during my Ph.D. studies, I completed a sandwich doctoral internship at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven), Belgium, in the Soft Matter, Rheology and Technology (SMaRT) section of the Department of Chemical Engineering (CIT), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Paula Moldenaers. During this research period abroad, I specialized in modeling the viscoelastic rheological response of immiscible polymer blends to estimate the interfacial tension between the blend phases in the molten state, using theoretical emulsion models.
I finished my D.Sc. in 2021 and, after that, I spent 6 months as a postdoctoral researcher in the Chemistry Department at UFSCar, studying the use of recycled polypropylene to develop lamellar polypropylene/EVOH blends for food-contact applications.
I started my position as a Professor at UFSCar in 2022.
In addition, I currently hold the position of Associate Coordinator of the Structural Characterization Laboratory (LCE/DEMa), an open-access, multi-user facility housed within DEMa/UFSCar. My responsibilities include oversight of polymer-focused activities and, more specifically, the operation and support of ultramicrotomy, AFM, confocal microscopy, and Raman spectroscopy.
